Welcome

Hi everyone and welcome to my website!

Vocally people say I sound like Michael Bolton or other blue-eyed soul singers when I sing soul music. Sammy Hagar, Chris Cornell (Audioslave) when I do heavy rock. I love it all! I always try to sing with passion and emotion whatever kind of music I'm doing. Like I said I let the song itself dictate how I will sound. I guess I'm mostly from the old school of music. I grew up in the 60s and 70s when there was soooo... many great songs and artists on the airwaves and in the record bins(remember them?)

I've been listening to and writing in the styles of the 60's and 70's for years now. it's just who I am musically I suppose. You can't be exposed to all that great stuff your whole life and not be deeply influenced by it. The new CD is called "Every Shade Of Soul” and is available now for listening and download. It's a collection of original and covers songs of some of soul and R&B music’s greatest hits. Stay tuned for more.

Prayed For Me
There seems to be a whole new breed of
blue-eyed soulsters out there determined
to reverently keep the flag of heyday soul
flying, while many of the guys that should
naturally have it in the blood coursing
through their veins are simply dishing up
computerised drivel with oversexed lyrics
and poorly-constructed music. Welcome
then to Scott Seabock, who has gathered
some proper musicians around him for this
‘tribute set’ from what he describes himself
as “A middle-aged white guy singing...the
music that has always captured my heart.”
‘Take It As It Comes’, one of six of his own
songs, provides a storming start, before we
settle into the insistent beater that is ‘Are
They Missing You In Heaven’ - some nice
sax work from Reggie Harris on this one -
and slow down for ‘Show Me’, not the Joe
Tex song. Brass and guitar - soul, not
blues/rock - drive ‘Natural Thang’ along,
Harris’ sax introduces the ballad, ‘Love Will
Be True’ and ‘Somebody Prayed For Me’
provides a funky finale. Seabock impresses
just as much with the ‘outside’ songs,
‘Some Kind Of Wonderful’ being a fine take
on the Soul Brothers Six number, while the
femme-supported ‘(Your Love Keeps Lifting
Me) Higher And Higher’ ripples along at a
more leisurely pace than the norm, with
a sax break. There’s a noteworthy ‘You
Make Me Feel Brand New’ too, with Scott
majoring on the verses and, rather than
attempt a Russell Thomkins falsetto, giving
over the choruses to a duet with Ms Keli
Vale. Impressive! Find the cd at cdBaby or

Some songwriters would shake their heads when they hear the theme from Scott Seabock: "I let the song dictate how I will sound as a musician." Come then add also influences from 60s soul, jazz and rock, as is sound then the finished album? Here's one answer: the listeners immediately, the new album from Scott Seabock - "Every Shade of Soul" hang up.
Sounds more like modern R & B Rhythm & Soul with a little PC ", there is at Scott rough, soulful sounds with rough edges and a great accompaniment by a jazz-rock band. Already the opening "Take It As It Comes" with a large pinch of brass brings a lot of optimism in life. The second, calmer number "Are not They Missing You In Heaven" is very soothing and creates a desire for more soulful sounds of "a la Scott. Here, the U.S. competition Timbaland & Co. cut a big slice.
Seabock shows with his CD and that older classics can bring a fresh new look at old mills. Good example of this is his jazzy rendition of "Some Kind Of Wonderful", which was already known by Marvin Gaye or Huey Lewis. Invites you to dream and the ballad "You Make Me Feel Brand New (Stylistics), a singer with Keli Vale. The saxophone accompaniment produced here is a spine-tingling atmosphere that awaits the soul fan, too. Seabock Scott and his "ancestors" of Motown, Stax and Philly is thanks.
The other songs point to Scott's great work Width: With quiet soul songs like "Love Will Be True" and also songs that are more in the category "Blues-Rock" ("Somebody Prayed For Me") are classified. Here, perhaps, even artists like the Doobie Brothers and Steve Winwood had been interested in working as a guest musician. But what has not, may well come at the next CD yet.
A very successful work of Scott Seabock that must go into the charts. And a musical development, after his debut with a more Christian-oriented pop music. In it could take many modern soul / R & B artists an example. So is the new soul motto: "Away from the PC, down to the instruments". And who still has some catching up should just ask Scott Seabock. He will show them.
